Dylan Izaak
My name is Dylan and I was born on October the 10th 1971 in a town called Rugby. We moved from there to Coventry then Australia then Stratford-upon-Avon and then back to Australia and then back to Stratford-upon-Avon. We also moved several more times in each of these places.
The things I like most in life are beer, cars, pigs and people, and now that my little boy is a toddler I quite like toddlers as well. I don’t like watching too much telly, I don’t like horses, I’m strangely allergic to penguins and pigs and although artists aren’t supposed to be materialistic I like to spend an unhealthy amount of time dreaming about what I would buy if I won the lottery.
I started out in art by becoming a street artist, which I did for 8 or 9 years. Unfortunately sitting out on the street drawing meant I was a bit of a target for ‘odd’ people who would come over to talk to me for most of the day, so in the hope of escape I opened a gallery on a boat. This was much better, I was still attracting more weirdoes than I was comfortable with but working from the boat meant I could display all my other work such as the Long People. This is pretty much where all this sort of thing started. After working on a collection for a year or so I began selling through other galleries, which has worked out really well due to the extra exposure. This is now the third proper collection and I’m hoping you will all like it.
I make all my prints strictly limited editions and I don’t repeat the image in any other format other than promotional material such as catalogues or maybe cards. I’ve reduced the new edition sizes to a maximum of 50 and they are all high quality giclee prints produced on a heavy weight 100% cotton fine art paper using archival inks. Each picture comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, which I sign and number.
