Jon Pryke RBA
Jon developed a love for pastels as a medium, a medium not often chosen by artists, and after many years of working with pastels, he is now a master of their usuage. His works can be extreme in colour, subtleness and atmosphere, What amazes the viewer is the way he portayes light the way it reflects on water, the way the colour of the landscape is transformed by the different times of day and year. He paints often in the Mediteranean where the light is stronger and colours more vivid.
He regularly exhibits at the Mall Galleries and has been awarded The Pastels Society Frank Herring award in 1998. The R.B.A. Edward Wesson prize in 2004 and was elected as a member of the Royal Society of British Artists the same year.
Jon has had many exhibitions and commissions include Wayford Manor, the offices of Downing Street and the Palace of Wesminster.
