Lila Stern-Shewry

Lila was born in Israel, where she initially studied Philosophy and Literature. She later attained a BA in Art and drama and then completed a course in Jewellery and Silversmithing in Jerusalem.

In 1989 Lila began making jewellery for a living and then moved to England in 1991, setting up her jewellery business in East Sussex, where she now resides.

Lila uses a variety of materials to create her spectacular pieces of jewellery. Working predominantly in silver and gold with a multitude of semi-precious and precious stones. She uses organic techniques such as wirework, granulation and reticulation to render her designs. 

Many of her pieces cross the boundary between jewellery and sculpture.
