Massimiliano Longo

Massimiliano Longo was born in Venice in 1954.  He qualified at the Venetian Academy of Fine Art, began as a professional painter in 1982 and he added illustration to his portfolio in 1986.  He has worked in partnership with many of the main Italian publishers, with particular focus in the area of book covers.

He works in a variety of mediums but currently has a preference for acrylics on board or canvas.

Massimiliano’s passion for cats is evident; not only in his expertise of illustrating their anatomy but also in capturing their character. He is an accomplished painter in all subjects but now specialises as a portrait painter and in his canvasses he unites traditional styles with contemporary composition and angles. 
 
In all his work, he keeps faith to the Venetian Realism tradition – the “Verismo Veneto”.
